Our final high point, Bardon Hill, Leicestershire and a gentle 278m.
We finished on the high point closest to the centre of England and Wales and on the oldest rocks, Pre Cambrian volcanics, for any geology geeks out there.
Brandon Hill is flanked on two sides by a couple of huge working quarries. The final photo shows a stunning Triassic unconformity with the 600 million year old volcanic rocks.
